Adult Sunday with Marc Chagall

Sue and I arranged for Dana, a friend of Sarah's, to be the tour guide for the kids this Sunday. This gave the two of us an entire afternoon to enjoy Madrid on our schedule, and have two less people to worry about.

Our first stop was the Thyssen museum, which had a Marc Chagall exhibit. I had heard of Marc Chagall, but knew nothing of his works, but now I'm a fan.  He created a lot of interesting paintings with intense colors, animal motifs, and unusual perspectives, and was fluent in a variety of styles.

After about as much museuming as our senses could tolerate, we walked off to find a bite to eat.  The first option that appeared before us was the Museo de Jamon, and we got a couple of Iberian ham sandwiches and drinks.

After a little necessity shopping, we settled into an outside table at a plaza near our house, and finally sat down to rest our feet.  We were walking or standing for four straight hours, and as such it felt good to sit and rest.  The outdoor cafes are a great way to people-watch too.
